Omer Day 31: Compassion of Humility

Tiferet sh’b’Hod – Compassion of Humility

allowed my sister Rose to be caretaker
to give deep love to our very ill mom
without her asking for self-recognition

      She ignored her own pain
like Abraham welcoming his angel guests
caring for their comfort and not his

She was her best self but did
not wear the hash tag # See me I’m the Best
She simply shared her open heart’s breath

So blessed was she who could
clear then fill the space beyond her shadow
to bend the knee giving thanks—to be able
to give.
