Oct 7th Chayalot

Stone stairway leading up a dry, rocky hill to a small building under a clear blue sky.

Ribono shel olam,
May the men of Israel revolutionize themselves.
May they finally, finally consider woman as equals – in the workplace, in their homes, and in the army.
May the generals, the majors, the corporals and the sergeants of the army, the tsava, take seriously the voices of its chayalot, its women soldiers.
May they hear the voices of the chalayot as they bravely guard the remote borders of Israel.
May there never be another October 7th because men in high places, with loud voices, did not hear, did not listen, and did not value the voices of our beloved chayalot.
From now on, may the chayalot be everybody’s soldiers – instead of nobody’s soldiers.
May the men of Israel revolutionize themselves.
Amen.
