KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH

A person wearing sunglasses blows on a dandelion, scattering its seeds outdoors on a sunny day.

KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH
When, at the Y, Monique instructs us
“Now, ladies, let’s elevate with three calf lifts”,
I hear heavenly hosts call to each other
“KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH”

When, after school, Lena groans to us
“I’m starving for Mac ‘n’ Cheese”
I stretch towards the top shelf to reach it,
I hear gauzy angels turn and respond
“KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH”

When I hear Josh Groban at the Super Bowl
Lift our hearts with “You Raise Me Up”,
I hear Isaiah’s wonderment at divine epiphany
“KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH”

When I stand on my tiptoes to see what’s just over the fence,
I hear spirits of our human longing ascend to sing:
“SANCTIFY, SANCTIFY, SANCTIFY”
“UPLIFT, UPLIFT, UPLIFT”
“TRANSCEND, TRANSCEND, TRANSCEND”
“KADOSH, KADOSH, KADOSH”
