I-Thou, Unexpected

The world is not comprehensible but it is embraceable
Through the embracing of one of its beings, wrote Martin

The thing about I-Thou is that it’s eternal
“Love is stronger than death” wrote Solomon
“Once you have found her, never let her go.”  wrote Oscar

Some random morning, I saw a stranger across a day room of psych hall B-3
Some enchanted bashert morning, she saw a stranger across a day room of psych hall B3
No, we didn’t know, didn’t know even then
Because she was a patient and I was a chaplain

This miraculous I-Thou, anomalous but destined.
Incredulous that in this place, we’d found our dearest friend.

“Who can explain it?  Who can tell you why?
Fools give you reasons.  Wise men never try”, wrote Oscar
“Always listen to your heart and speak your truth”, wrote Leslie.

The thing about I-Thou is that it’s eternal.
Once you have found it, never let it go.
