God Is My Ally

woman in flowing red skirt silhouetted against a forest sunset
I love that God is my/our ally. And especially in my struggles and pain, it is such a comfort to know that even when I feel alone, I am not alone. God is my ally. God is by my side and on my side. I know that I experience the most suffering when I get in my own way and when I think and act in ways that make things harder for myself. It helps me to remind myself to be my own ally; to be on my own side. And to get out of my own way. When I am a stronger ally to myself, there is more room for God to be a stronger ally to me.
