A Prayer for Those Who Can No Longer Remember

Elderly person sitting on a bed, with another person beside them in a dimly lit room.

Barukh Ata Adonai . . .
May it be your will, my Support
to help me remember,
remember not the present
filled with chaos,
but the past, filled with
sweet memories of
caring, laughter, support
and even those memories of
precious anger and frustration.

Barukh Ata Adonai . . .
May it be your will, her Protector,
to help her, my dear one, remember
not the past, which is already gone
but the present
and feelings of
safety, love, security that surround her.

May she remember the feeling of worth
despite the earth constantly shifting beneath her feet.
