Andrea Penner

Andrea Penner, raised in a secular Jewish home in southern California in the 1960s, believes poetry can promote dialogue and understanding. Her second book, Rabbit Sun, Lotus Moon (Mercury HeartLink, 2017) was a poetry finalist for an Arizona/New Mexico book award. From her Albuquerque home, she serves up poetry, creative non-fiction, and memoir in her Substack newsletter, In Our Own InkNote: This “found” poem excerpts and preserves original wording from the family Haggadah to convey the essence of the Passover: a celebration of history, of life, and of the possibility of peace (some punctuation added for clarity or emphasis).
