Omer Day 16: Gevurah sh’be’Tiferet – Discipline of Beauty

What shall I do
with this yearning
to create?

How can I express
the beauty
surging
urging
to burst
out of me
caged up
waiting
to be born?

It will not
emerge
all at once
fully realized
complete.

It cannot
take form
without
a firm
foundation.

Perfection
comes only after
practice.
Art
demands
discipline
as surely
as kavannah
requires
keva.

Inspiration
cannot
enter your door
unless
it is open.
Beauty
cannot
take a seat
at the table
unless
a place
has been set
for it.
